Deliberately avoiding didactic and overt expressions of identity, my work is nevertheless rooted in personal history and, generally, has an aesthetic kinship with abstract expressionism and minimalism. Conceptually it is a dialectical conversation between contradictory ideas of strength and fragility, simplicity and complexity, abstraction and literal representation that can co-exist within one artwork or many artworks within a series.
