Hooking Goes Pop: Contemporary Rug Hooking
Rose Wilson and Terri Whetstone at the Opening of Hooking Goes Pop: Contemporary Rug Hooking. Rose and Terri met via the international community of rug hookers sharing their artwork on Instagram. Rose is located in Ottawa and Terri is in Nova Scotia.
After being "blown away" by Rose's work Coming Undone and *Hot Lips and thinking their work shared themes and approaches, Terri reached out to Rose and prosed a joint exhibition.
A proposal was made to Chester Art Centre in May 2025 and in February 2026 the exhibition opened to a large gathering.
Both artists are grateful to the folks at Chester Art Centre and those many people who travelled to Chester to see the exhibition and support the artists..
The exhibition moves to ArtCan gallery in Canning, NS in August 2026.
