By Any Other Name
The series "By Any Other Name" is a sub-series of Public Image. These artworks were created specially for the exhibition Hooking Goes Pop: Contemporary Rug Hooking which is being presented at the Chester Art Centre in Chester, Nova Scotia Feb 25 to March 15 2026, and ArtCan Gallery in Canning, Nova Scotia in August 2026.
The series' name ("By Any Other Name" ) is a riff on my co-artist Rose Wilson's name and the famous lines from William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet: "What is in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet".
