Hooking Goes Pop exhibition 2026

Hooking Goes Pop: Contemporary Rug Hooking includes the artwork of Rose Wilson and Terri Whetstone, two visual artists who share contemporary Pop Art approaches to imagery in their rug hooking, while expressing themes of personal import within the works.

Hooking Goes Pop: Contemporary Rug Hooking is being presented at the Chester Art Centre ( Chester) and ArtCan Gallery (Canning) both in Nova Scotia in 2026.

The exhibition highlights the emergence of new themes and ideas being expressed
through rug hooking that go beyond the traditional motifs so often seen in our
community. It seeks to encourage individual exploration of the medium as a form of
self-expression and narrative (pictorial) story-telling.
